@bummerbot and I collaborated on this #painting for our dear friend and the officiant of our wedding, @jor_conlon - I sketched out the #mug and #frog, Chau #painted almost everything (including all of the #foliage from scratch), and I painted the frog and consulted on colors. There is nothing I love more than being married to another #artist and making things together!

So many things I #treasure in one photo! I made the #monstera #leaf #garland myself using fake #leaves and washi tape. 🌿The #books in the middle that are on #display are from my maternal grandmother, and the wooden purse is from my nana, my paternal grandmother. The #cicada #ouija board is my #design, and the #rainbows are courtesy of @rainbowsymphony window clings. Also prominently featured is (Borat voice) MY WIFE 🖤

#Experimenting in my #sketchbook with different #techniques, #media, and styles. Turns out I really like how a translucent layer of #acrylic #paint changes up my #ink #illustration, it shifted the whole #mood of the piece along with some strong black #linework.

Another #sketchbook page finished - I had a very vague pencil outline (concentric lines and a one word note to myself of what I wanted to depict in each section), followed that up with a #watercolor #marker base layer, then fineline marker details and white gel #pen highlights. I’m still using my sketches as a form of #meditation - in this instance, imagining a simple, #vibrant world adrift in #space and surrounded by #crystals.
